Activities

The Bayberry offers many wonderful activities for the young and the young at heart. We have some lovingly restored, classic bicycles, and we let you use them at no additional charge. Relive those childhood moments, put some cards in the spokes with close pins and tool around town. The locals get a real kick out of it and so will you. There are plenty of country lanes to peddle down, but we do advise that you relinquish the right of way, not everyone enjoys biking as much as you do. Tour maps provided.
Not far from the Inn is a lovely pond. We recommend passing many pleasant hours on the dock (like these two). Just dig up some worms, we'll give you the rod and reel, hooks and lines and send you on your way. We don't recommend wading or swimming in Ishmail pond, there are some old snapping turtles and the bottom is really muddy and yukky. We will gladly take whatever you catch and have Ooneko (our chef) make a great dish for you and the other guests. An other word of caution, fish don't really pull that hard on a line, certainly not the ones in Ishmail pond. So, if you feel something yanking really hard, don't fight it just cut the line and let it go. Trust us, you don't want to find out what's at the other end.
If you don't want to exert your self in all the activities the Bayberry has to offer you can always sit back on the porch and watch Jenny. She is the state Hoola Hoop champion, and with good reason, she practices nearly every day. It may not be exercise for you but you may just break a sweat anyway. Great for the cardio vascular system, and she really likes the attention.
